Hi, my name is Jonathan Rushing. I have been doing ministry for the past 10 years. Mainly music ministry but have done everything at one time or another. I knew about about 5 years ago I was called to pastor, and felt in my heart that Concord NC would be the place. To make a long story short I have been offered a church in Concord NC. My Grandfather actually built and pastored the church. However, through the years it have been seriously neglected and they were about to close the doors on the church with only 7-10 people remaining. We are wanting to relaunch a church here. Our opening day is suppose to be May 17th. God's Pit Crew was suppose to help us with the construction of the church, but suddenly had to back out due to circumstances beyond there control. I want to personally thank you for the work that you did to rebuild Pearlington, MS UMC. I am originally from MS where my family had a home in Waveland. After the storm, my Connecticut church sent 520 coats to children in Pearlington and Lakeview - many of whom were living in tents in Oct. 2005. It's a wonderful community and I continue to pray for the people of the MS Gulf Coast each day. For those of us who've worked there since Katrina, we understand how things are still not "done", but that much work remains. Again, God bless you and thank you again.
